Tariff

Tariff - How We Charge Customers for Moving (Updated: 1/22/2022)

At Vegas Pro Movers and our St George Pro Movers location we have a low overhead in comparison to the national moving companies and can typically beat a national moving company by quite a bit on cost. We can arrive with 1 or more 26' full size box trucks for your move. If the distance is short (a local move), we can save you money by bringing one truck and then doing a second or even a third trip if needed.

Hourly Rates for Local Moves Under 150 Miles

* Truck Fee: $35 PER HOUR / WAIVED FOR SPRING -- NO TRUCK FEE.
Each Professional Mover: $75 Per Hour

Luxury Home Move / Elite Crew and On-Site Supervisor Required -- $80 Per Hour Per Mover -- Transport Fee: $30 Per Hour Per Mover

Full House / Condo Move - $75 Per Hour

LABOR ONLY / LOADING / UNLOADING - $65 PER HOUR PER MOVER - Transport Fee: $50

Apartment Move - $65 PER HOUR PER MOVER - Transport Fee: $50

PACKING SERVICES -- HOURLY RATE OF $75 PER GUY. If we are providing supplies (purchased new for every move) we will not upsell you and only charge you what was spent. Our team is trained to inventory each item we use and only charge you what you used. That means we leave with the excess and do not stick you with the entire supply purchase.

2 Trucks:
Second Truck: $340 Daily Charge + .35 mile (MILEAGE FEE WAIVED LESS THAN 30 MILES)
(This helps cover a full day of wages for a second driver, fuel expense for two loaded moving trucks, commercial insurance policies on two CMVS over 16,000 GVWR, and vehicle lease costs)

3 Trucks:
Third Truck: $340 Daily Charge + .35 mile (MILEAGE FEE WAIVED LESS THAN 30 MILES)
(This helps cover a full day of wages for a third driver, fuel expense for three loaded moving trucks, commercial insurance policies on three CMVS over 16,000 GVWR, and vehicle lease costs)

Rates for Moves Over 100 Miles (UPDATED: 5/19/2021)

We do not bill on the weight of a load as many of the national moving companies do. Instead, we use a simpler formula that leaves no room for a moving company to take advantage of a customer on reported weight vs actual weight.

All loading, unloading, and packing are itemized separately from the transportation cost and billed hourly. See the above hourly rates under local. These hourly rates based on the number of movers and or trucks also apply to long distance moves over 100 miles. In addition, we now add a transportation cost based per mile and itemized on your final bill and charged as follows:

One Full Size Straight Truck (26')

Rates for Long Distance Moves (1 Truck) over 100 miles

150 - 300 Miles: $9.75 per mile

3rd Party Rental Trucks (26')

Due to the logistics and timing on the calendar of your move, we may have to rent professional box trucks from companies such as Penske or Uhaul. Due to high inflation and a large spike in move requests in 2021, we must pass the price of the truck onto our customers and that will be added to the above prices. Depending on the day of your move, discounts may be available. A written and capped price may also be available.

Out of State Origination Fee

If your move is starting out of state, and coming to our state additional fees will be assessed beforehand and included in the estimate which can be a written and binding estimate. These fees are necessary when hotels, 3rd party moving help, and even equipment rentals are necessary as part of your move.

Additional Fees --

One-Way Truck Rental Move Requiring Blankets - Blankets Cost $10 Each (Customer can sell blankets following the move to a local moving company as moving blankets are commonly used by professional moving companies).

Vehicle Towing

WE ARE NO LONGER TOWING VEHICLES -- WE CANNOT GUARANTEE WE'LL HAVE A CDL DRIVER AVAILABLE FOR THE MOVE. CUSTOMERS NEED TO CONTACT AN AUTO TRANSPORT COMPANY TO ARRANGE TRANSPORT OR CONTRACT ONE OF OUR DRIVER'S TO DRIVE THEIR PERSONAL VEHICLE (WE DO NOT INSURE IT -- CUSTOMER'S INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD NEED TO BE RESPONSIBLE IN THE EVENT OF ANY ACCIDENT).

Large / Overweight / Specialty Items

Upright Piano: $150
Baby Grand Piano: $400
Grand Piano: $600
Heavy Safe (300 - 499 pounds): $300
Heavy Safe (500 - 799 pounds): $400
Heavy Safe (800 pounds - 1000 pounds): $500
Pool Table (3 piece slate with felt removal / re-felting): $450

Small Pool Table (no disassembly needed): $200

Snow Storm / Ice Storm Fee

If the route on a long distance move includes the need for our driver to purchase snow chains which are required by law for commercial trucks crossing through the mountains, the fee we pass on to the customer is $300. This covers the cost of the purchase and the driver taking the time to chain up to complete the move without affecting the final bill other than the $300 fee.

Federal Regulations on Household Goods Movers

Statutes

§ 375.207 What items must be in my advertisements?
(a) You and your agents must publish and use only truthful, straightforward, and honest advertisements.
(b) You must include, and you must require each of your agents to include, in all advertisements for all services (including any accessorial services incidental to or part of interstate household goods transportation), the following two elements:
(1) Your name or trade name, as it appears on our document assigning you a U.S. DOT number, or the name or trade name of the motor carrier under whose operating authority the advertised service will originate.
(2) Your U.S. DOT number, assigned by us authorizing you to operate as a for-hire motor carrier transporting household goods.
(c) Your FMCSA-assigned U.S. DOT number must be displayed only in the following form in every advertisement: U.S. DOT No. (assigned number).

§ 375.807
What actions may I take to collect the charges upon my freight bill?
(a) You must present a freight bill within 15 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays) of the date of delivery of a shipment at its destination.
(b) The credit period must be seven days (including Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays).
(c) You must provide in your tariffs the following four things:
(1) You must automatically extend the credit period to a total of 30 calendar days for any shipper who has not paid your freight bill within the 7-day period. However, for charges for impracticable operations that are not collected at delivery, you may not extend the credit period beyond 30 days after you present your freight bill.
(2) You will assess a service charge to each individual shipper equal to one percent of the amount of the freight bill, subject to a $20 minimum charge, for the extension of the credit period. You will assess the service charge for each 30-day extension the charges go unpaid.
(3) You must deny credit to any shipper who fails to pay a duly-presented freight bill within the 30-day period. You may grant credit to the individual shipper when the individual shipper satisfies he/she will promptly pay all future freight bills duly presented.
(4) You must ensure all payments of freight bills are strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations of this part for the settlement of your rates and charges. [ 68 FR 35091, June 11, 2003, as amended at 72 FR 36775, July 5, 2007]

§ 375.201
What is my normal liability for loss and damage when I accept goods from an individual shipper?
(a) In general, you are legally liable for loss or damage if it happens during performance of any transportation of household goods and all related services identified on your lawful bill of lading.
(b) Full Value Protection Obligation - In general, your liability is for the household goods that are lost, damaged, destroyed, or otherwise not delivered to the final destination in an amount equal to the replacement value of the household goods. The maximum amount is the declared value of the shipment. The declared value is subject to rules issued by the Surface Transportation Board (STB) and applicable tariffs.
(c) If the shipper waives, in writing, your liability for the full value of the household goods, then you are liable for loss of, or damage to, any household goods to the extent provided in the STB released rates order. Contact the STB for a current copy of the Released Rates of Motor Carrier Shipments of Household Goods. The rate may be increased annually by the motor carrier based on the U.S. Department of Commerce's Cost of Living Adjustment.
(d) As required by § 375.303(c)(5), you may have additional liability if you sell liability insurance and fail to issue a copy of the insurance policy or other appropriate evidence of insurance.
(e) You must, in a clear and concise manner, disclose to the individual shipper the limits of your liability. [ 68 FR 35091, June 11, 2003, as amended at 72 FR 36771, July 5, 2007; 80 FR 59071, Oct. 1, 2015]

§ 375.203 What actions of an individual shipper may limit or reduce my normal liability?
(a) If an individual shipper includes perishable, dangerous, or hazardous articles in the shipment without your knowledge, you need not assume liability for those articles or for the loss or damage caused by their inclusion in the shipment. If the shipper requests that you accept such articles for transportation, you may elect to limit your liability for any loss or damage by appropriately published tariff provisions.
(b) If an individual shipper agrees to ship household goods released at a value greater than 60 cents per pound ($1.32 per kilogram) per article, your liability for loss and damage may be limited to $100 per pound ($220 per kilogram) per article if the individual shipper fails to notify you in writing of articles valued at more than $100 per pound ($220 per kilogram).
(c) If an individual shipper notifies you in writing that an article valued at greater than $100 per pound ($220 per kilogram) will be included in the shipment, the shipper will be entitled to full recovery up to the declared value of the article or articles, not to exceed the declared value of the entire shipment.
